On this 8 hour Barcelona and Monserrat tour we’ll see some of Barcelonas most famous landmarks, and venture outside town to the mountain monastery of Montserrat.
In the first part of the day we will visit the most important spots of Barcelona. We will travel along the Passeig de Gràcia avenue, where we will see monumental facades with an abundance of unexpected details. We will then have the opportunity to visit Gaudí’s Park Güell, which houses some of the artist’s most original creations, admire the facade of the Sagrada Familia and visit Montjuïc mountain to see the Olympic Park and enjoy spectacular views over the city sprawling out below.
We will stop for a stroll through the Gothic Quarter – Barcelona’s charming old town. This is the perfect place to delve into the history of Barcelona, wandering around its narrow streets and stopping at quaint squares. Stopping for a lunch break at one of the local restaurants recommended by your guide, we’ll recharge before continuing the tour to Montserrat.
Driving for around 1 hour from Barcelona, we will reach the Benedictine Abbey of Montserrat, in the Montserrat mountain range. Here you will discover the beauty and rock formations of the UNESCO world heritage site, a pretty setting for the Basilica church and chapel perched on the mountainside at an altitude of 720m. Driving up the mountain to the monastery, we’ll easily access the abbey where your guide will walk you through over 1000 years of dramatic history, and show you the Virgin of Montserrat visited by pilgrims from all over the world.
Late afternoon we return to Barcelona and you will be dropped off at the port or at your hotel.
This tour does not require a high amount of walking or wheeling, and it can also be completely tailor-made based on each person preferences. The itinerary also avoids steps and it follows a mostly flat path along the Tour.

Our dear friends; we hope you and your loved ones are well. The government here in Spain has taken measures in order to reduce the spread of the virus similar to those in other countries in the world. At this difficult time, we send our thoughts to those who have suffered the flue, and also to the health care staff at hospitals, who are putting their lives at risk under this uncertainty. Next weeks will tell what new measures are taken at airports in regards to international travel, until then we wish you the best patience and take everyday precautions. We are hoping to see you again, and we remain available to answer any question or concern you may have about traveling to Spain.
