The tour starts with a guided tour of Palma with stops at the Cathedral de la Seu, Alumdaina Royal Palace and Bellver Castle for a closer look, then heading out of Palma into the beautiful countryside and the medieval village of Valldemossa.
Your tour begins with a drive along the Maritime Promenade to the Bellver Castle, one of the most unique examples of Gothic civil architecture in Mallorca. From the ramparts, enjoy fantastic views of the city and the port below – a fantastic opportunity to capture the sight on camera.
Sweeping back down the hill to immerse yourself in the old historical Gothic Quarter with its maze of tiny streets, plazas and courtyards. The tour includes a visit the to the 13th century Gothic styled Cathedral La Seu with it 44 meter high nave and Baroque chapels. Parts of the Cathedral where designed by the Catalan Modernist architect Antoni Gaudi.
Next to it stands the Almudaina Palace, a monument which was converted from an Arab fortress into the residence of the Kings of Mallorca.
Strolling away from the Almudaina Palace area towards Plaça d’Espanya, you will pass through the Passeig del Born, one of the most lively streets in town. At both sides it is flanked by narrow medieval lanes as well as elegant palaces of 19th century.
Tucked away in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains 20 km north from Palma City, you will find the picturesque village of Valldemossa. In this beautiful setting the tour includes a guided walk through the village and a visit to the Carthusian Monastery where the Polish composer Frederick Chopin and the French writer George Sands lived in 1838.
On your way back to Palma, you will finally drive along Palma´s Passeig Maritimo passing the exclusive yacht club, marina and the fish market Sa Llotja, perhaps one of the most outstanding examples of Gothic civil architecture in all the Mediterranean area, with a great facade and fantastic interior. It was built by Guillem Sagrera between 1426 and 1448. Nowadays is used as Museum of Arts.
