Visit the two UNESCO World Heritage cities with this accessible full day tour to Segovia and Toledo from Madrid.
To start the tour we will pick you up from your hotel in Madrid in a comfortable accessible vehicle. During the journey, our official local tour guide will be explaining the history of Toledo and why it is one of the most important cities in Spain’s history. Our first stop will be Mirador del Valle, a viewpoint from which you can admire the beauty of Toledo’s walled center. Once in the city, we’ll take a stroll along the old city to discover one of the richest monumental heritages in Europe. This includes Bisagra Gate, Cristo de la Luz mosque or Santa María La Blanca and Tránsito synagogues.
We will then visit Toledo’s cathedral, Catedral Primada, with its Mujedar ornamentation. Inside, there’s a museum with paintings by El Greco, Rafael, Tiziano, and Goya. Almost all the halls in the cathedral’s museums are accessible.
After a lunch break to recharge, we set off for one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, Segovia. Here we will discover the Aqueduct of Segovia, one of the most intact Roman aqueducts in Europe. We will take a stroll along the old city to see historical monuments such as the Episcopal Palace, the Jewish Quarter, or the district of Canonjías. Then we will visit Segovia’s Cathedral, known as the Lady of the Cathedrals because of its height and beauty. It is an awesome work of architecture with elements such as huge stained-glass windows, beautiful chapels, and exposition halls. The cathedral has ramps to reduce the level difference and that makes almost every hall of the cathedral accessible.
The tour includes entry to the Alcázar of Segovia, and the Artillery Academy and Museum. From the outside, the Alcazar looks like a pretty fairy tale palace. However, once inside we can see different architectural styles of the kings that spent time here and gave it shape. Almost all the visit is on the ground floor and there are ramps that make all the halls accessible. Finally, we will drive back to Madrid where our accessible full-day tour to Segovia and Toledo ends.
