Enjoy our wheelchair-accessible panoramic tour of La Toja and Rías Baixas from Vigo with an Official Guide. This excursion aims to bring you to one of the most interesting routes in Galicia, the one that runs along the southern coast of the community, known as Rías Baixas.
Departure from the Transatlantic Pier in Vigo to the Island of La Toja by motorway, passing through Pontevedra and then along the coastal road. We will visit the fishing village of Combarro, and walk through its alleys to discover its unique architecture, Galician hórreos, and charming streets.
Then we will enjoy a short visit to the popular city Sanxenxo, and wander through the its streets to learn about the legends of its Castros. We will visit Playa de la Lanzada, getting a full overview of this mystical place, established in the 9th century. Our drive will pass by Portonovo which has many sculptures, all of which take on maritime themes and represent different elements of local life. Found along the promenade, notable statues include a fisherman, an anchor, and a female sailor carrying a basket of fish atop her head.
Following the route, we will visit the Island of La Toja. This island was the first vacation resort in Europe back in the late nineteenth century. Upon arrival on the island, our coach will stop by the Hotel Luxo Isla de la Toja 4* main entrance. We will access inside, where an appetizer will be served. This beautiful travel destination, is known for the Chapel of the Shells, the soap factory, and its natural landscapes.
After pur visit to La Toja, we will return to Vigo via the Salnés motorway, through the beautiful city of Pontevedra.
