If you’re interested in discovering traditional eateries that locals love, then this typical Guachinches gastronomic tour in Tenerife is your perfect shortcut to finding them. Set off with the local guide on the ultimate food and wine adventure. We will stop at “Guachinches”, where we will enjoy cheese and wine pairings and try plenty of authentic Canarian specialties too—such as roasted meats, and homemade fries with an egg and chorizo topping.

We will get to know Tenerife’s traditional gastronomy as we visit some of its wine cellars and Guachinches, traditional wine-maker establishments where we will eat delicious food and drink −and buy− their wine, both made from the heart. This tour starts at our first Guachinche on our tour, that provides step-free access through a ramp. Here you will taste 3 different wines (red, white, and rosé) paired with an assortment of Canarian cheeses. We will get to know more about Tenerife’s wine tradition and taste their best wines. Afterwards, we will visit a second guachinche located in Santa Úrsula, where we will try delicious starters such as: roasted cheese with mojo sauce, escaldón −consisting in a blend of fish or meat stock and gofio−, papas arrugadas with mojo sauce, huevos estampidos −an exquisite mix of fried eggs,  and ropa vieja, a pretty famous dish along the Canary Islands. Then, we will get to our last guachinche stop, where you will try its most famous roasts.

We will adequate this tour based on your accessibility requirements, as not all of the guachinches provide step-free access. The second and third guachinches in this tour have 3 steps to access, therefore we will shorten the duration for those groups preferring flat leveled access at all venues.

Next, we will visit Bodegas Monje, where we will enjoy a guided visit and drink a delicious cup of coffee or tea while staring at Tenerife’s beautiful northern coast. Make this typical Guachinches gastronomic tour in Tenerife and enjoy the culture and true cuisine of the Canary Islands.

This itinerary is a selection of those most interesting parts that avoids steps, pronounced hills and cobblestones, following a mostly flat path along the tour. We also tailor each tour to each group’s preferences and specific accessibility needs.

One guachinche of the initial route does provide level floor access, and it saves the steps through a ramp, but the second and third guachinches in this tour have 3 steps to access. For groups that require step free access venues, we will shorten the tour to 4 hrs instead of 6, still visiting the first guachinche and the winery. This tour is available in Spanish and English.
