Take a deep dive into the culinary culture of Tenerife with this Monje Winery Tour and Mojo sauce workshop with Wine Tasting and lunch. It’s one thing to travel the island and taste cuisine at different restaurants, but to really understand the cuisine and history of the Canary Islands, taking a cooking class is the way to go. After a winery tour and tasting, learn how to make the islands’ famous “mojo sauce”, which you can recreate at home for friends and family.
In this workshop, we will learn how three types of Mojo will be made following traditional family recipes using a variety of different ingredients. The chef will guide you to get the best flavor from one of the 7 gastronomic wonders of this country. We will learn how to make the Coriander Mojo, Parsley Mojo and Red Mojo. While the mojos are being made, we will enjoy ourselves at Bodegas Monje tasting three glasses of young Canarian wines. A glass of Dragoblanco (young white wine) accompanied by a Watercress butter, a glass of Hollera (red wine produced using carbonic maceration) accompanied by “Almogrote” and a glass of Monje Tradicional (young red wine) accompanied by Canarian Chorizo and also wrinkled potatoes.
