Explore the small tapas bars tucked in the historic Huertas neighbourhood and as you savour a traditional tapas dinner, meet their passionate owners and cooks. As is customary in Spain, each dish is accompanied by a glass of wine.

The Tapas Tour includes a number of services to guarantee you the best possible experience such as a local guide, Spanish wine tasting and a tapas dinner. During the evening, you’ll enjoy 4 local wines and traditional and modern tapas at 3 stops. You’ll sample the enormous selection of Spanish wine, from sparkling cava to robust red wine, while learning tips on how to select and order the best bottles both here and at home as well. Do not miss this wine and tapas experience in Madrid and explore the historic streets where Spain’s literary greats lived and worked.

Highlights

This Tour follows a route of 3 bars in the Huertas neighbourhood of Madrid, which provides flat leveled paved streets all along the way. The first bar of the Tour has step-free access and its door is 69 cm wide (27 inches), the second bar provides the possibility to either save a 16cm step (6,2 inches) or enjoy the food from its terrace. Its door is more than 70cm wide (Plus 28 inches) . The 3rd one has a little step of 8cm (3 inches) and its door is more than 70cm wide. The last stop provides a fully adapted bathroom inside the bar. The distances between the bars are all little more than 600 meters but include different stops including benches. All 3 bars provide a reserved seating at dining tables with standard height.

This wheelchair accessible Tapas Tour itinerary has been designed in collaboration with Walk & Eat Tours, while maintaining the same quality standards. The Tour includes stops at bars and restaurants that provide step free access, standard dining table height, short distance wheels /walks and 1-2 adapted toilets in the route. It’s available in English and Spanish. There are all possible food options, diets and allergies.

AST itineraries are a selection of those most interesting parts that avoids steps, pronounced hills and cobblestones, following a mostly flat path along the tour, and we tailor each tour to each group’s preferences and specific accessibility needs.

  • Meeting point: The Plaza Santa Ana will be the meeting place for this tour, and your guide will be there next to the statue of Lorca. Additionally, hotel pickup is also an option.
