In any city there are places that seem to have stopped in time. This is what happens in old shops, many of them centenarians that we are going to try to recover with this accessible Century old shops tour in Barcelona.

We will know many of the centuries-old shops, without them the city would not be the same, it would be sadder, it would lack color, character, light, human warmth. That is to say, you will see some of the area’s most popular and hidden sights. They are part of the sentimental geography of the city and its hallmarks. Behind these stores we have little stories of those who founded them, of their customers, their successors and those who work to support them. As always, citizens have not given them the importance they deserve and that is why in many of them history has been lost. With a knowledgeable official local tour guide to lead the way, you will veer off the beaten path and delve deep into the past.

On this tour, we will stop by the Plaça de Sant Jaume. Then we will head to the seat of the Catalan government, and walk alongside one of the world’s best-preserved Roman walls. Next, the tour includes stops at the medieval Plaça del Rei, Barcelona Cathedral, Plaça Reial, La Rambla, Plaça Sant Felip Neri, Santa María del Pi church, and Santa Caterina Market.
